How long keratin lasts in Kharghar, and what shortens it

Three to five months is the honest range on most hair. Naturally straighter, finer hair tends to sit nearer the long end, because there is less natural movement trying to come back through it. Coarser or very curly hair loses the effect sooner, simply because it is fighting harder the whole time.

Condition before the appointment matters too. Hair that was recently bleached, or smoothed with a different chemical service, holds the bond less evenly than hair that came into it healthy. That is part of what the consultation is for: reading the hair honestly before agreeing which end of the range is realistic.

The first wash is the one that matters. Water, heat and even a tight hair tie in the first three days can soften the bond before it has fully set. Clips are safer than bands for the first two nights, and a loose plait beats both if your hair is long enough to need one.

Air drying is safer than a hair dryer in this window, if you have the time for it. If you don't, keep the dryer on a cooler setting and hold it further from the scalp than usual. The goal for three days is simply to disturb the hair as little as possible.

Sulphates are the detergents that make a shampoo foam, and they are efficient at stripping oil, including the smoothing bond a keratin treatment leaves behind. A sulphate-free label is not an upsell invented to pad the bill. Check the ingredients for 'sodium laureth sulphate' or 'sodium lauryl sulphate', and pick the bottle without either while you want the treatment to hold.

A sulphate-free shampoo does not have to be expensive to work. What matters is the absence of the two ingredients above, not the price on the bottle or the brand printed on it. A supermarket bottle without sulphates does the same basic job as a salon-only one.

A flat iron or a hair dryer on a high setting works against the same bond the sulphate-free shampoo is protecting. Turn the heat down a notch and use a heat protectant before either tool touches your hair. Every degree you don't need is a week you keep.

A ceramic or tourmaline plate glides with less pulling than a basic one, which matters more than the number on the dial. Second-day hair that just needs a touch-up rarely needs the highest setting at all.

Humidity is not a flaw in the treatment. It is hair pulling moisture back into a cuticle that keratin has smoothed, not sealed shut. The frizz that follows is the hair reverting, not the treatment failing.

A humid week in Kharghar will show it sooner than a dry one would. That is physics, not a reason to worry, and it is not a sign the treatment has failed early.

Book the next appointment when the ends have gone soft and the shine has flattened, usually somewhere past the three-month mark. Rebooking earlier than that, on hair that is still holding, is a job that isn't due yet.

The clearer signal is regrowth: once new hair at the root moves differently from the treated length, that is the point to come back in.
